Corinne Vinopol, PhD, President, IDRT

As President of  the Institute for Disabilities Research and Training, Inc. (IDRT) and in leadership positions in dissemination and creation of unique teaching tools and program delivery for national and international dissemination, Dr. Vinopol has extensive knowledge and experience in the applications of technology for educational product development particularly with federal mandates for Section 508 accommodations compliance. IDRT provides comprehensive research and development consulting services that include concept development, research design, data collection, data analysis, engineering, software development in a variety of programming languages, development of training packages, and marketing. Dr. Vinopol and IDRT have been recognized by the US government through repeated funding of disability-oriented projects that demonstrate outstanding creativity and skills in relevant areas, such as cartooning, graphic arts, videography, web and software design, and computer programming. IDRT is dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through research and development, training, technical assistance, and advocacy. Although IDRT's work has applications and benefits to people with all disabilities, the agency specializes in research and development efforts on behalf of children and adults who are deaf and hard of hearing. With particular expertise in the development of computer software and other products in American Sign Language (ASL), in research on speech recognition and closed captioned television, in training related to emergency response for people with hearing losses, and in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), IDRT has developed a product suite noted for its federal funding support and national and international dissemination.
